Director of Engineering - (The Boston Consulting Group, Inc. -
Manhattan Beach, CA): Direct engineering efforts for digital product design and development across incubation and
build, identifying innovative technologies and partnerships, and enhancing the intellectual property (IP)
portfolio for the Engineering team. Specific duties include: lead the technology efforts across product feasibility,
architecture, and engineering stages; work closely with our CTO and collaborate with other Engineering Directors to manage
current digital product ventures, drive vision in the region, and perform IP development; apply industry best practices, agile
processes and design patterns across a variety of products being evaluated and developed; hire, develop, and lead
the various cohorts of engineering teams including architects, front-end and back-end engineers, and data
engineers; oversee and review the products being built leveraging strong experience in online, cloud and mobile
platforms, (e.g., Google App Engine, Amazon Cloud, OS X, and Android); lead the effort in identifying breakthrough in
technologies and potential partners for Search, Big Data, Image/Video Mgmt, Mapping/Location, Real Time Systems and other
related technologies; and manage the engineering resource utilization, business planning, and
required sourcing relationships for the assigned venture. Requires a Bachelor's degree (or higher) in computer science,
electrical engineering, software engineering or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus
twelve (12) years of experience developing multi-tiered, distributed software applications, which must include at least
five (5) years of experience managing engineering teams performing architecture and development of digital platforms,
products and technology, and scaling and building within a high growth technology company. Specific skills/other
requirements (quantitative experience requirements not applicable to this section) - must possess the following:
(i) setting technical vision and building the technical roadmap from concept to scale by collaborating with product
management to define scope, drive continuous product improvement, and establish product sustainability; (ii)
completing product release cycles following agile methodologies; (iii) identifying, incubating, and building new
Intellectual Property leveraging established and emerging technology to enable Art of Possible; (iv) providing 'strategy
and roadmap' consulting to executives of large corporations and managing stakeholders for execution of multiple
ventures; (v) programming in an object-oriented language, performing system scalability, and utilizing CRM, WCM,
ERP, or ECM resource solutions; (vi) developing in online, mobile, and cloud platforms, including OS X, Android,
AWS, Azure, and GCP; and (vii) applying security in SSO, oAuth and SAML and ensuring compliance with PCI, PII, OR
HIPAA. Domestic/international travel required (up to 50%) based on company/client need. Must have unrestricted
