Manager Profession: Registered Nurse (RN) Specialty: Labor &
Delivery (L&D) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Varies,
days/evenings Hours per Shift: 36 hours/week Experience: 4 years of
nursing experience required; 1 year of recent/current supervisory
experience in Labor & Delivery required. License: Active state
nursing license Certifications: ACLS, AWHONN, NRP, BLS Must-Have: -
4 years of nursing experience - 1 year of supervisory experience in
Labor & Delivery - MSN or BSN MA in Healthcare Administration -
NICU experience is a plus - Ideal candidate will have at least 5
years of nursing experience with 2 or more years of supervisory
experience in an acute care facility Description: Responsible for
managing nursing staff and related support staff assigned to a
specialty patient care unit. Oversees the day-to-day operations of
the unit and assumes 24-hour responsibility. Supervises and directs
the work of nursing and support staff. Assigns, reviews, and
evaluates work of assigned staff. Prepares and/or signs work
performance evaluations. Handles disciplinary actions and hiring
decisions. Prepares schedules and oversees staff scheduling and
payroll processing. Monitors and ensures compliance with
departmental policies, procedures, and safety standards. Develops
and implements departmental policies, objectives, and training
programs. Develops monthly schedules and ensures adequate daily
staffing. Conducts clinical rounds to monitor quality of patient
care. Investigates and facilitates documentation of unusual
occurrences. Develops and prepares unit budget and monitors
resource utilization. Ensures compliance with regulatory and
accreditation requirements. Monitors patient satisfaction surveys
and implements strategies for improvement. Oversees educational
instruction for staff in technical nursing skills. Ensures
preservation of patient rights and privacy. Collaborates with
Education Services to ensure staff competencies. Reviews and
analyzes patient data and outcomes. Prepares letters, documents,
and reports as needed. Performs professional nursing duties as
