rewarding.Its Work That Matters.Overview:Purpose Statement/Position
Summary: The Manager of Clinical Services assumes primary
responsibility and oversight for all aspects of the work area,
including establishing and maintaining the CHLA culture of care as
well as operational, clinical and educational functions. Engages in
strategic planning and establishes programs that facilitate the
development of staff and the delegation of portions of this
responsibility to subordinates. Analyzes and utilizes outcomes data
to drive performance improvement and quality improvement efforts in
accordance with regulatory and accreditation requirements. Fosters
a team approach to shared responsibilities, while functioning
independently as needed in all aspects of the work area. Empowers
other work area staff to achieve the goals and objectives of the
work area. Supports the development of skills of the staff to
continuously provide best-practice care. Ensures that all
policies/procedures are age and/or developmentally appropriate.The
Emergency Department at Childrens Hospital Los Angeles is a 46-bed
tertiary care facility with an annual volume of nearly 100,000
visits, a dedicated Urgent care area and two Trauma bays. The
patient population served ranges from neonates to adolescents with
a large number of these patients having high acuity and complex
medical conditions. The ED has been the 3rd Childrens Hospital in
the US to receive the ENA Lantern Award for innovation, quality,
excellence and healthy work environment.Minimum Qualifications/Work
Experience: 3-5 years of experience in pediatrics. Previous
supervisory and fiscal management experience preferred. Expert
clinical knowledge of unit's patient population. Ability to lead
others. Good organizational skills. Ability to communicate
effectively and tactfully, both verbally and in
writing.Education/Licensure/Certifications: Masters degree
required. 15+ years of nursing leadership experience may substitute
for a Masters degree. Current California RN license and AHA CPR and
PALS certification and National Certification required.Pay Scale
Information: CHLA values the contribution each Team Member brings
to our organization. Final determination of a successful candidates
starting pay will vary based on a number of factors, including, but
not limited to education and experience within the job or the
industry. The pay scale listed for this position is generally for
candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements
listed on this specific job description. Additional pay may be
determined for those candidates that exceed these specified
