Job Description Job Description Located in Bloomington, IN Salary: $18.00 / hr - $24.00 / hr Experience Required: Prior CNC Machine Operator experience preferred; set up experience a plus Mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of hand tools Job Summary: Operate and set up CNC machines while meeting production, quality, and safety standards. This role may include training on advanced CNC operations and set-ups, with opportunities to progress to independently running multiple machines and performing complex job set-ups. Operate up to two (2) or more CNC machines and/or secondary processes while meeting production and quality standards Perform set-ups for new and existing production jobs, including multiple machining operations, within quoted time, cost, and quality requirements (as trained/qualified) Read, understand, and follow technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions Inspect parts and ensure quality of finished products Maintain SPC charts, machine maintenance books, tooling logs, and other required records Troubleshoot and assist with solving machining and process-related issues Perform operator-level preventive maintenance Verify required permanent and perishable tooling is available for scheduled production Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work area Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and improve processes Care for and maintain equipment and tooling Train and assist other operators as skill level advances Skills / Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent (GED) Prior CNC machine operator experience preferred; set-up experience a plus Mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of hand tools Good basic math skills Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings Ability to use precision measuring instruments Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality Ability to lift up to 50 lbs Ability to operate multiple machines as training and experience allow Key Performance Measurables Maintain efficiency standards appropriate to skill level (100%-200%) One (1) or fewer internal quality rejects per month Zero safety issues Set-up times within established guidelines (as applicable) Maintain a clean, efficient, and organized work area Cost control through waste reduction, scrap reduction, and minimizing non-value-added activities Location: Bloomington, IN Position Type: Evaluation Hire Pay: $18.00 / hr- $24.00 / hr Schedule : 6:00 AM- 4:00 PM Monday-Thursday with possibility of overtime How to apply: Complete our online application Send your resume to Jobs.BloomingtonIN@ExpressPros.com Visit us in person at 333 E Winslow Rd, Bloomington, IN 47401 About Express Employment Professionals: Express can help you find the type of job that is a perfect fit for your needs and abilities, and you'll never pay a fee for our services and support.
